Dear friends,
On August 23, 2002, the Sheena Heath Staff House was
dedicated during Camp Knutson's 50th anniversary. Thanks to the many
generous donations we were able to complete the Memorial Love Project at Camp
Knutson in memory of our daughter, Sheena. It was a day of many
rewarding blessings as we witnessed the tremendous outpouring of love, care,
support, dedication, and hard work that goes into making a memorable, happy,
safe camp experience for children suffering with severe disabilities.
Thank you to all of you who have given so graciously.
Your gift will help richly bless and serve families with serious medical
conditions for years to come.

About Sheena:
Sheena Heath died in a tragic car accident in 2001
at age 16. Sheena had planned to attend college to become a teacher and loved
volunteering her spare time by reading to young children. She was very
dedicated to her goals. It is so sad and unfortunate that we lost her before
she could realize the accomplishments we knew she would achieve.
In Sheena’s memory, our family and several friends decided to build a new staff cabin at Camp Knutson.
This new facility is a fitting memorial to our Sheena as it is a
daily inspiration to staff counselors who are learning the nobility of helping
kids with special needs. The
dedicated staff at Camp Knutson will have a modern, comfortable facility where
they can rest and be refreshed after long days of providing experiences for
kids with special needs.

Camp Knutson is located near Crosslake, Minnesota on a
beautiful peninsula between Whitefish and Trout Lakes. The focus of the
camp is to provide life-changing experiences for young campers who are hearing
impaired, have severe skin disorders, HIV, AIDS, Down syndrome, heart disease
and other disabilities. This unique camp is equipped to meet the demanding
physical, mental and medical needs of campers who may not otherwise be able to
experience "up north" summer camp. Camp Knutson provides camping experiences
for kids from all religions and ethnic backgrounds. The Camp depends on
donations to provide this magical summer experience. The Heaths, third
generation resort owners on Whitefish Lake, are honored to share the lake with
Camp Knutson for the 49 years since Camp Knutson was established.
